Ted Reeve Arena Toddler and Preschool Program

Community Centre 55 – Ted Reeve Arena provides nutritious, allergy-safe meals and snacks through its long-term catering partner, Real Food for Real Kids. Substitutions and dietary restrictions are taken into account to accommodate the individual needs of children.  Meals are served family-style to encourage children to share experiences with their peers and provide opportunities for educators to use meal times as a group learning experience. CLP team members are required to receive Food Allergy Training, First Aid and CPR, Food Safety Training, and follow CLP protocols to reduce the risks of severe allergies in their child care environments.

Lillio (formerly HiMama) is used by Ted Reeve educators to record activities and updates throughout the day. Everything from nap duration to snacks portions, it provides families with complete history of their child’s experience in our program with photos stored safely and securely in a journal format. Whether families are at work, home or on the go, real-time updates on each child’s learning experiences and development are available through the Lillio mobile app. From time to time, our programs share communications to families about special events, newsletters, and any upcoming changes in our programs. Families are also able to share feedback to staff through the app. We found that our family engagement levels have significantly increased as a result of being also available through an app format.

The Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) outlines clear expectations, service standards and guidelines for child care providers who have a service contract with the City of Toronto Children’s Services. It also serves as a self-evaluation and planning tool for child care operators and educators.

Community Centre 55 – Ted Reeve Arena Toddler and Preschool Program is a full-day program that operates 12 months of the year. The program is closed for statutory holidays, including Easter Monday and Remembrance Day, Christmas Break. Fees are charged when the program is closed and regardless of attendance. This location has a Service Agreement for Fee Subsidy with the City of Toronto Children’s Services and participates in the CWELCC system.

This location maintains an extensive waitlist, but families are welcome to submit a waitlist application for future enrolment in toddler and preschool programs.
